ideal meal for the outdoors/austere environments

i have tried several different outdoor meals, including army rations, in sometimes austere environments. normally, i would use a boil in the bag product and heat this in water over a hexi or gas burner. this product is ideal when you need a filling meal, but havent the time or resources to start a camp fire ( or are tired and hungry), or are worried about eating local food that you might become ill from .the taste of the food is consistent between bags, and is surprisingly appetising. the heater element works well to get the meal to a reasonable temperature. the heater takes a long time to cool down, so can be used as a hand warmer afterwards as well. the heater element doesnt take up much extra room, so volume is not a problem.this one is halal so suits me, but i would recommend to anyone - it tastes pretty good, even better when you are cold and hungry outdoors.
